Tourneo Connect Technical Specification
Get the most out of your petrol engine
The new 1.0 litre 3-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine delivers 100PS and 170Nm of torque with a six-speed manual transmission. Combined with other fuel saving technologies such as Auto-Start-Stop, this award-winning engine gives you all the power you’d expect from a conventional 1.6 litre engine, but achieves around 24% better fuel economy and 25% lower CO2 emissions of just 129g/km.
Powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engine
If you prefer to run diesel, you can choose from three 1.6 litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine options: five-speed manual transmission, 95PS, 230Nm with five-speed manual, or 115PS, 270Nm with six-speed manual.
The 95PS engine is available with optional Fuel Economy packages that include: Auto-Start-Stop, Active Grille Shutter, Battery Management System and Smart Regenerative Charging. If you want an automatic, the 1.5TDCi 120PS comes with a six speed auto transmission and delivers a CO2 rating of just 129g/km and a combined mpg of 56.6.
Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop
When your car stops at traffic lights or is idling in a queue, this optional technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the ventilation, radio and Ford SYNC). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
A smart info system to help you drive more efficiently
The innovative Ford Eco Mode system continually assesses the effects of your driving behaviour on your fuel consumption. The system analyses your speed, gear shifting, braking and anticipation levels, plus the number of short and long journeys you make. Smart software then advises you on how to improve fuel economy.
Better aerodynamics for improved economy
When you’re driving slowly, the Active Grille Shutter system keeps the grille vent open to cool the engine. When you pick up speed it can automatically close, improving aerodynamics and helping to save fuel.
A more efficient way to re-charge your battery
Unlike traditional systems, Smart Regenerative Charging only charges the battery when it needs it, and, whenever possible, avoids doing so when you’re pressing the accelerator. This can help save even more fuel and further reduce emissions.
Tourneo Connect Key Features
You can expect remarkable technologies in every Ford and you’ll find many in the all-new Tourneo Connect. Fitted as standard or available as an option every technology has a useful purpose, whether it’s to entertain you, keep you connected, protect you, or make every journey easier and more enjoyable.
Ford SYNC. Advanced hands-free technology
Ford SYNC lets you control your music and make and receive calls on your mobile, using simple, direct voice commands. For example, if ‘home’ is listed as a contact on your mobile, you just need to say: "Call home" and the system will automatically dial that number. You can use voice commands to play songs from a USB or MP3/iPod® too, or when you’re streaming music from a Bluetooth®-compatible phone. The system can even read your incoming texts aloud.
Sensors that take the stress out of parking
Parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your car and obstacles, both in front and behind you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate an audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.
Bollards, bins, low walls…The rear view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the centre console or rear view mirror and activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The system also displays virtual guidelines to help you park into the smallest of spaces.
Lamps that give you better nighttime visibility
If you’re indicating and turning into a road or pulling into a parking space, a light within the foglamp (on the turning side) automatically illuminates the side of the road to give you enhanced visibility through the turn.
Less tiring drives, more economical journeys
Cruise Control lets you set a speed then maintains it until you brake or accelerate. Via toggles on the steering wheel you can also adjust your speed while you’re driving.
In addition, the Adjustable Speed Limiter Device helps you drive within a pre-set limit that you select. As well as helping you to save fuel, the system can minimize the likelihood of you exceeding the speed limit too.
As well as their practical benefits, both technologies can make long motorway journeys more relaxing.
