Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Service Manager to lead our busy service department in Tewkesbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the service department, ensuring the highest standards of customer satisfaction and quality of work. You will lead a team of skilled technicians and service advisors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Service Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. You will be responsible for managing the workshop, scheduling work, and ensuring that all repairs are completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of service advisors and technicians. This includes hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Service: Ensure an exceptional level of customer service is delivered at all times. You will be a key point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, resolving complaints, and building long-term relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Financial Performance: Drive the financial performance of the service department. controlling costs, achieving sales targets, and maximizing profitability.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Ford and HiQ standards, as well as all relevant health and safety regulations. You will be
  • responsible for quality control, and ensuring all warranty claims are processed accurately.

    Skills and Qualifications

    We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in the automotive service industry and a proven track record of success in a management role. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

    A track record in the automotive sector, with management experience.

    Experience working with Ford and/or a fast-fit environment like HiQ would be a significant advantage.

    Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve their full potential.

    A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and the ability to build strong customer relationships.

    A strong technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair. While not essential, a technical background or qualification would be beneficial.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and senior management.

    Strong financial and business acumen to help drive profitability.
